Rock Mattresses

Rock Mattresses are a thin profile gabion and traditionally used in applications such as creek and channel linings where long term scour is an issue.

The confinement of appropriately sized stone within a mesh effectively increases the resistance of rock movement for a given flow condition and subsequently protects the underlying soil from scour. Cirtex® Rock Mattresses are typically supplied in plan area of 6m x 2m with varying product thicknesses ranging between 0.17m to 0.3m.

Like the Cirtex Gabions, the product is traditionally supplied as a zinc coated unit but also available with a PVC coating over the zinc where corrosion is likely to be an issue.

Additionally, Cirtex are able to supply product manufactured under a galfan wire coating process where the addition of aluminium to the zinc process can provide additional life to the wire in extremely aggressive environments.
