Project Information
Dive Crescent in Tauranga was under attack from high flow rates from tidal flow in that area. The project had a short timeframe and needed fast, reliable supply to the site to meet the challenging deadline. Cirtex and Fulton Hogan have a long-standing relationship working with tight construction deadlines.
The Engineers decided a rock revetment stretching approximately 250m as the best solution. A combination of TerraTex K geotextile and large rock rip-rap armouring was used. The geotextile provides separation, preventing scouring and further erosion behind the armouring. The wall adds to the pleasing aesthetic that compliments the natural surroundings.
