Cirtex Rock Bags are a flexible durable rock filled net bag providing a versatile, environmentally friendly alternatives to concrete, gabions, and rock rip rap revetments and used to prevent scour and erosion in waterways and marine environments.
Available in 2 ton and 4 ton units, manufactured from a high durable UV resistant polyester net and filled on site with rock and lifted into place to provide the erosion protection structure they provide a fast, durable and cost effective solution.
The smaller graded rock within the net bags reduces flow velocities by absorbing water energy into the high interstitial spaces between the rocks. These high interstitial spaces also provide enhanced habitat for invertebrates, accrete fines, gravels and silts which allow vegetation to establish naturally over time.
Cirtex Rock Bags can be used independently or as part of a bioengineering design with vegetated systems above water level, providing a very effective scour and erosion control solutions. Working with nature rather than against it to provide habitat biodiversity simultaneously with an engineered approach for asset protection.

Cirtex Rock Bags material is a virgin polyester. It is ideal for hydraulic works as it is rust-proof, non-corrosive, rot proof, and weather resistant. It can withstand exposure to ultraviolet, salt water and fresh water
We recommend using 50-200mm rocks in the 2 ton and 4 ton. For the 8 ton, 75-200mm is suitable.
