Incomat®
The Incomat® concrete mattress consists of two layers of high-strength woven geotextiles which are connected at regular intervals.
Incomat has been used successfully since the 1970’s across the globe in hydraulic engineering applications for both erosion protection and lining purposes. A wide range of types are available including permeable and impermeable options. Possible applications include slope protection, coastal protection, channel lining and pipeline buoyancy.
For designers, we offer a project concept service to assist you with preliminary recommendations on the best suited type and thickness required. Depending on the application, this can include a project concept report outlining the parameters used/recommendation and also typical cross sections.
For contractors, we can work with you on pre-installation preparation and provide support throughout the duration of the project. We have a wealth of installation guidance available which cover many different details that often need to be addressed.
Incomat® is a registered trademark of HUESKER Synthetic GmbH.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I determine which type of Incomat is best suited to my application?
Contact Cirtex with your site specific parameters that may be relevant e.g. flow velocities, slope gradient and one of our technical team can assist you in making a recommendation.
Is it possible to incorporate vegetation when using Incomat?
When erosion control is required for areas above permanent water level/flood levels, Incomat ‘Crib’ can be considered. Contact us if you would like us to discuss your project further.
How are the Incomat mattresses filled?
Using a concrete pump (truck mounted or tow-behind), Incomat mattresses are filled through the top layer of material either through a small slit or a filling port. The positioning of these filling points is typically determined onsite by the contractor. Alternatively, filling ports can be sewn into the Incomat mattress during manufacturing for ease of installation.
