Cirtex attended the GEOANZ Conference in Brisbane, Australia organised by the Australasian Chapter of the International Geosynthetics Society (IGS). A host of attendees from Australia and New Zealand, along with international guests were able to learn from and connect with other industry professionals over the three day conference, which was headlined by a presentation by the conference’s prestigious speaker and former president of the IGS, Professor J.P. Giroud.
The conference focused on Advances in Geosynthetics, and included other topics such as coastal protection, environmental containment and infrastructure reinforcement & stabilisation.
As a conference sponsor and exhibitor, Cirtex were able to have a display stand in the exhibition hall. The stand featured a full size MagnumStone block to showcase the benefits of the system when used in conjunction with high strength geogrid to allow fast and effective construction of MSE wall systems. The team also ran a competition during the conference for attendees to guess the ultimate strength of the StrataGrid Uniaxial Geogrid on display. The correct answer for this grade was 165kN/m with the closest estimate going to Jonathan Shamrock of Tonkin + Taylor.
