HaTelit® C
HaTelit® C is a flexible composite reinforcing geogrid comprising high modulus polyester grid combined with a ultra-thin nonwoven geotextile.
HaTelit C asphalt reinforcement adopts the high stresses developing at the crack tips in the lower pavement layers and distributes them over a larger area. Through this action the HaTelit C permanently counteracts reflective cracking. HaTelit C has been extensively used in road, airport runways, taxiways and motorways for many years both in New Zealand and around the world. The combination of the high modulus polyester and ultra thin nonwoven geotextiles provides a product that simplifies installation while still allowing excellent bond and interlock between the asphalt layers.
HaTelit XP is manufactured from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and possesses all the familiar features of the HaTelit C range with the added benefit of being alkali resistant.
This means the reinforcement grid can be installed in environments with a high pH, such as when in contact with concrete or stabilised layers and other high alkaline products, making this product particularly versatile in meeting diverse challenges.
Specific roll widths and lengths available on request.

Frequently Asked Questions
What is HaTelit made from?
HaTelit C is a made from high-modulus polyester (PET) grid combined with an ultra-lightweight non-woven geotextile. HaTelit XP is manufactured from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) combined with an ultra-thin non-woven geotextile. HaTelit BL is made from high-modulus polyester (PET) yarn which is laminated with a bitumen sheet.
Can HaTelit be laid directly on concrete?
HaTelit C must always be installed between two bituminous surfaces. A non-bituminous surface such as concrete should be covered with an asphalt layer before installing the HaTelit C reinforcement grid.
HaTelit XP, HaTelit BL or SamiGrid can be installed directly on a concrete surface without the need for an asphalt regulating course.
What are the differences between HaTelit C, HaTelit XP and HaTelit BL?
HaTelit C is the standard product of the range, manufactured from high-modulus polyester yarns and the ideal option when asphalt reinforcement is needed. HaTelit XP is manufactured from polyvinyl alcohol (PVA) and thus alkali-resistant, so it can be installed both on asphalt and concrete surfaces. Finally, HaTelit BL is a self-adhesive reinforcement grid, laminated with a bitumen sheet, and particularly suitable for the rehabilitation of small asphalt and concrete pavement areas.
What is the minimum asphalt layer thickness required on top of the HaTelit reinforcement grid?
HaTelit reinforcement grids must be covered with a compacted asphalt layer of at least 40mm thick.
